Last night, we closed school for today in order to allow Madison police, with the support of school administration, to investigate a threat against Madison High School. At that point, we notified the community via electronic means, but we did not want to interrupt sleep with a phone call.
This morning at 5:30 am, we deployed a district-wide telephone notification to alert all families. Unfortunately, the system failed to deliver calls to approximately half our district. We are currently in process of investigating why the system failed.
We sincerely apologize to those families who did not receive telephone calls. We rely on this system to communicate with our district, and we will ensure all issues are addressed so this does not happen again.
Thank you for your understanding.
